What kind of vehicle is the 2024 Lexus LC? What does it compare to?
Available as a coupe and a convertible, the 2024 Lexus LC is a stylish performance car that competes with the Jaguar F-Type, Mercedes-Benz SL, and Porsche 911.
Is the 2024 Lexus LC a good car?
Yes. It combines stunning styling and impressive performance, but practicality isn’t part of the equation. It’s a 6.4 on the 10-point TCC Rating scale. (Read more abouthow we rate cars.)
What’s new for the 2024 Lexus LC?
For 2024, the Lexus LC gets an updated infotainment system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and standard front and rear parking sensors. There’s a new 21-inch wheel design available across the lineup, Lexus ditches the spare tire in favor of a weight- and cost-saving tire repair kit, and offers new Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 and Copper Crest exterior color options, and a new Dark Rose interior.
Lexus offers the LC in coupe and convertible body styles, though the roadster isn’t available with the hybrid powertrain. Both wear daring lines, starting with the front spindle grille and flowing back along the profile in a series of delicate slices and slits. The coupe is the prettier of the pair, thanks to its unusual roofline. The lovely cabin punctuates its color-matched, leather-swathed minimalist elegance with sporty touches like toggle switches and high-end digital displays.
The Lexus LC 500 pairs a 471-hp naturally aspirated V-8 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission to power the rear wheels. The LC 500h is nearly as engaging and much more efficient with its 3.5-liter V-6 engine paired with an electric motor and battery pack, for a total of 354 hp.
Precise suspension tuning gives the LC 500 a lightweight and agile feel, though it tips the scales at a hefty 4,500 pounds or so. The optional upgraded brakes and limited-slip differential are worth considering, though we aren’t impressed with the optional rear-wheel-steering system.
The LC 500 is EPA-rated for 19 mpg combined, though the LC 500h impresses at 29 mpg combined.
Lexus backs the LC 500 with a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty that includes 2 years of scheduled maintenance.
How much does the 2024 Lexus LC cost?
The 2024 Lexus LC 500 starts at $99,300, which includes a $1,350 destination charge. The LC 500h starts at $102,600. The convertible, available only with the V-8, starts at $106,550.
Lexus offers numerous options, such as performance upgrades, extra-cost paint, and a Bespoke Build option for well-heeled shoppers who want a one-of-a-kind LC 500.
