Available in 2 variants – Fortuner Neo Drive and Legender Neo Drive – the latest Toyota mild-hybrid SUV offers a 48V mild-hybid system to enhance fuel efficiency. The Fortuner Neo Drive and Legender Neo Drive are priced at a premium of Rs. 2 lakh over their corresponding 4×4 diesel-AT variants. Only the Fortuner GR-S 4×4 AT variant (Rs. 51.94 lakh) is priced above the new Neo Drive variants of the 2 SUVs.
2025 Toyota Fortuner Neo Drive – What Is It?
As the name suggests, the Fortuner Neo Drive and Legender Neo Drive offer a 2.8L diesel engine paired with a 48V mild hybrid system that includes an integrated starter motor and a lithium-ion battery. The 48V mild hybrid system gives the 2 SUVs auto start-stop capabilities that should enhance their mileage. However, Toyota are yet to reveal the mileage of the Fortuner and Legender mild-hybrids but expect it to be higher than the 14.20kmpl claimed mileage of the non-mild hybrid variants.
Offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic, the Fortuner Neo Drive and Legender Neo Drive produce 204PS of power and 500Nm of torque. Toyota claim the Neo Drive powertrain offers smoother initial acceleration compared to the non-hybrid 2.8L diesel engine.
2025 Toyota Fortuner Neo Drive Gets Additional Features
The latest Neo Drive variants of the Fortuner and Legender SUVs get additional safety kit over the variants they are based on. Apart from 7 airbags, hill ascent assist, hill descent assist and traction control that are offered as standard on the 4×4 variants of Fortuner and Legender, the Neo Drive variants also gets wireless phone charger and a third-party 360-degree camera, which is a welcome addition considering the size and height of the SUV. 2025 Toyota Fortuner Bookings And Delivery Details
Bookings for the Fortuner Neo Drive and Legender Neo Drive are currently open. The booking amount for the mild-hybrid SUVs is set at Rs. 50,000. Toyota say deliveries of the Fortuner Neo Drive and Legender Neo Drive will begin from the 3rd week of June 2025.
